The WoW Token was created to give players with lots of extra gold the option to use it to help cover their subscription cost, and give those who want to purchase gold a way to do so from fellow players through a secure, easy-to-use system. The Token will be making its debut in an upcoming patch—in the meantime, check out the FAQ below for details on how it works. Buying the WoW Token for game time is a very simple and streamlined process. All it takes is a quick trip to the Auction House and a few button clicks. Customer support does not assist with temporary access to the game in order to purchase a WoW Token.

Players will be able to purchase a WoW Token through the in-game Shop for real money, and then sell it on the Auction House for gold at the current market price. When a player buys a WoW Token from the Auction House for gold, the Token becomes Soulbound, and the player can then redeem it for 30 days of game time. After November 21, 2023, any player who cannot purchase a WoW Token for gold in-game will need to first purchase and consume at least 30 days of game time for real money. This can be done on any World of Warcraft account across the player’s Battle.net account to qualify. Players will no longer be allowed to purchase a WoW Token from the Auction House or the in-game Shop for gold if they have not spent real money to purchase and consume at least 30 days of game time (a “Time Limited License”) since 2017.
If you are at or near the Battle.net Balance cap, you will not be able to redeem a Token for Battle.net Balance. Selling the WoW Token
Once you’ve completed your purchase, the WoW Token will be placed in your inventory.
